Thursday & Friday 1pm-8pm Saturday & Sunday 11am-4pm Monday 1pm-5pm This role requires some additional time beyond these hours to ensure we are prepared for each adoption day.

Summary:
This position plays a valuable connecting role between Wright-Way Rescue and our adopters.
Our Adoption Support Specialist will help facilitate and finalize adoptions as well as utilize knowledge of our pet supply products in combination with the unique characteristics of each animal and adopter to provide helpful guidance and information regarding ideal supply purchases.
Excellent customer service is required of this position to cultivate and maintain a welcoming and helpful atmosphere at our adoption center.
The Adoption Support Specialist must work closely with management to continue evolving our retail program to optimally meet the needs of Wright-Way Rescue and our adopters.
Responsibilities:
Be capable of working independently, with no direct supervision at times Provide exceptional and timely customer service to all customers or potential customers with an emphasis on building a lasting relationship between our organization and each adoptive home.
Properly introduce approved adopters to prospective pets including existing pets.
Effectively communicate the legal requirements of adopting from Wright-Way Rescue.
Process adoption fees.
Answer pre-adoption questions as appropriate and refer others to the correct departments.
Responsible for adoption paperwork completion and organization.
Promote any special programs or products as instructed by the Adoption Program manager.
Achieve the retail goals as set by management.
Assist adopters by providing informed guidance regarding the equipment and supplies that would best suit their needs.
Assist adopters by discussing positive training methods that can be utilized with certain equipment to best set them up for success Utilize social media to feature items and promote sales.
Communicate the needs of our retail program to management regarding needed, requested, desired and non-moving items.
Maintain quality appearance of the Retail area.
Assist with monthly inventory.
Assist with the packing and sending of online orders.
Promote training and special event opportunities to guests Ensure the intended morale of WWR is promoted.
Miscellaneous:
Other duties as assigned or as the dynamics of the population change.
Assist with development of in house programs.
Requirements:
Prior retail experience is preferred.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to be flexible, work independently, demonstrate sound judgment, understand the importance of deadlines and work in a dynamic collaborative team environment is necessary.
Resourceful, roll up the sleeves attitude.
The successful candidate must have the initiative to resolve problems and seek answers independently and enthusiastically demonstrate flexibility to persist until goals are achieved.
Passion for animals and animal welfare.
Must be able to work with all dogs and cats, including those with health concerns/conditions and all sizes and energy levels.
Knowledgeable of breeds, caregiving, and characteristics of animals.
Must have a strong understanding of dog body language or ability to learn Long exposure on a daily basis to dogs of all temperaments, sizes and medical conditions.
Computer literate Ability to read English and perform basic calculations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Must be able to regularly lift 40lbs (crates and dog food) Ability to use pallet Jack to maneuver retail items for stocking and storage purposes.
