Staff Accountant to work in Morton Grove, IL supporting a Fortune 500 Company. This position is responsible for facilitating finance deliverables in accordance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, while adhering to company accounting policies and procedures, and also maintaining strong positive relationships with internal clients.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Lead the month end close process
Prepare month end financial reports and analysis
Research and explain actual to budget variances
Prepare and maintain journal entries
Responsible for general ledger reconciliations
Update and maintain processes and procedures
Sarbanes-Oxley Testing & Audit Requests
Develop and maintain system writers & queries
Maintain a thorough understanding of all company accounting processes
Special projects as necessary

Experience/
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
2-4 years of general accounting experience.
Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and manage priorities under tight timelines
Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and problem solving ability
Ability to handle a variety of tasks effectively and efficiently
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and requests
Ability to take ownership of the role and drive the processes
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products-Strong Excel skill set with experience creating pivot tables and v lookups.
Experience with JD Edwards/AS400 or similar database systems
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
