Mgr, Packaging

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop strategy aligned to lean manufacturing/JIT principles to achieve continuous improvements in safety, quality, regulatory compliance, service, labor productivity, conversion cost, inventory, and asset utilization. Develop and implement annually a transformation plan aligned to NAOBU objectives detailing capital, labor, overhead, information technology, and other organizational needs to achieve continuous improvements in safety, quality, regulatory compliance, service, labor productivity, conversion cost, inventory, and asset utilization through improved processes, technology, and organization design. Ensure all finished goods are produced in a timely manner to meet the planned and emergency requirements of both the Morton Grove Lab and external customers. Operate the Packaging Unit in an efficient manner to insure all production and testing is done at minimum cost consistent with quality, safety, service, and regulatory compliance requirements. Cost control responsibilities include direct, overhead, capital, and inventory costs. Develop the next generation of Avon leaders. Anticipate business changes and ensure Packaging has adequate resources to satisfy service and regulatory requirements. Develops and maintains an effective, high morale work force with adequately trained replacements. Assures adequate technology and capacity. Assures production and testing equipment is maintained in sound operating condition. Foster teamwork and organizational effectiveness through pro-active communication channels to other groups including Marketing, New Product Development, Research and Development, Purchasing, Materials Management, customers, and suppliers. Work to insure the success of all Avon business partners. Expand the application of total employee involvement processes including work redesign, empowerment, and quality and productivity improvement teams consistent with Avon principles and values. Pursue employee development through training, empowerment, and recognition utilizing the Performance Management Process and the non-exempt performance appraisal. Provide guidance and support to direct reports. Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree; preferably in a technical field, i.e. engineering or science field. Supply Chain related certifications including Six Sigma a plus. Must be process oriented with proven ability to deliver year on year continuous process improvement. 7-10 years manufacturing or supply chain related experience. Must be able to effectively communicate, make independent decisions, have proven experience leading change and be aggressive about taking responsibility. Excellent knowledge of packaging operations. Demonstrated ability to run the packaging department, deliver strong execution and show sustainable improvement in KPIs, and have the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent written/verbal communication and effective listening skills. Ability to think outside of the box and challenge the status quo. Must be able to make fact base decisions and think strategically. Demonstrate and have proven experience managing Associates. Strong negotiating skills. Must be able to lead / influence others in the development and implementation of business objectives. Must be able to analyze data and have operational understanding to identify, prevent, and solve problems and make decisions in a timely manner. Must be able to make immediate decisions with limited information and rapid assimilation of facts. Must have the ability to multi-task and take on multiple projects at one time. MGRPA01813

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
